Only non-classic sequel that's better than the original?

I say non-classic because Three Caballeros is obviously way better than Saludos Amigos.

Maybe because I never liked the original Peter Pan to begin with.
In fact I strongly disliked that. And Return to Never Land was more... acceptable for my tastes.

That's not to say I liked it, but I certainly liked it more than the first.

Anyone agree, disagree?

Return to Never Land has certainly been one of Disneys better sequels. As far as sequels go I'd rank this one up with The Rescuers Down Under, which says a lot because I positively loathe sequels. I just wish Disney had put as much effort into such travesties as The Hunchback of Notre Dame II if they really felt the need to wreck the original like that.

I dunno, I really enjoyed Simba's Pride as much as the original Lion King. :-)

This sequel was pretty good, but there's no way it can touch the original.

I disagree. "Peter Pan" was never my Disney favorite, but still a watchable film. "Return to Neverland" is horrible in many ways; horrible written, too sappy and has bad songs and humor.

reply

I disagree, I love the original, and despise Return to Neverland.

reply

Totally disagree. I like to pretend this movie doesn't exist. The ending pretty much ruins my entire childhood and the first film for me.

Reading The Book Thief made me cry more than Titanic.

How does it ruin the original for you?

reply

Peter Pan is the greatest Disney film ever in my book, and Return to Neverland was a great sequel, too.

reply

I don't think any Disney sequel is better than its predecessor...and this is one of my lower-ranked, more-disliked ones.

reply

I disagree; the original Peter Pan is way better than Return to Neverland in my opinion. I liked the latter at first, but now it didn't age well.
