Things that I learned about WWII from this movie

(ok, for the record, i know a lot about WWII and this film was so inaccurate)
1: Ju-87 Stuka's fly en masse at night.
2: The US entered the war in 1940.
3: Anderson Shelters are massive!
4: British Army troops 'square bash' at night in full kit.
5: Everyone ignores the black out rules and the ARP warden is no where to be seen.
6: American fire engines are in abundence to put out a house fire.
7: Flak is none existent.

Keep this going.

"You go get 'em Little Friends!"

Yeah, it was very inaccurate. But it's not that suprising, considering the source. ;)

Nathaniel: Sire, do you...like yourself?
Edward: What's not to like?

reply

most people in London during the Blitz spoke with American accents
Most children had sophisticated adult vocabulary and cadence
parents were 'ordered' when to evacuate their kids (with no notice)
A flying pirate ship is nothing unusual in the skies above London at this time
they made british army uniform coats in cheldrens sizes
oh, and the helmets too

reply

Like I said, flak is non existant, some Heinkel He-111's, and a couple of 40mm Bofors guns, equals, one destroyed pirate ship,

Insert witty joke here

reply

Actually, during WII they did make certain things children sizes, such as helmets and gas masks in order to protect the children.

A flight of fighter planes could fly past a wooden sailing ship coming at them at the same altitude and no pilot would see it!
