Anyone else cried?

When Shang fell into the river? I mean I've seen the movie so many times, and I know there's a happy ending, but that scene gets to me and makes me cry, this is the second movie that has managed to do so.

Disney has done sad endings.

reply

Yes. That small point in the movie held the same potential that the original had. It could've been a good sequel. But other than that part and other bits, I thought it was a standard Disney sequel. Poor and rushed.

But that scene made me like the movie, because it was so emotional.

Sad ending? Not that i know of. Even the little clip they put on the special DVD release of little mermaid had a 'happy ending'.

(the clip is called "The Little Match Girl")

The Fox and the Hound & Pocahontas.

reply

oh man, you're right. Pocahontas did have a pretty gloomy ending, even though it was colorful and all.

Really...I am an Angel...

reply

theres no way shang couldve survived that fall. it looked like a long drop (even for an animation). but yeah, when it happened, i cried too. lol.

reply

Well he hit a river, so there was a small chance he could have survived.

I NEARLY cried. It takes a lot to make me cry.

Excepting in a pokemon movie when Charizard got his head stuck...I WAS EIGHT OK?

reply

Lol! Poor Charzard, never able to see the sun again.
XD *sorry*
I didnt cry at the whole Shang thing....but then again, I have no heart ^^

omg i love the mulans and i started to cry at this part too am i was thinking omg i am crying about an amimation movie and i rarely cry over movies.

reply

Same here. Wonderful scene. Powerful and beautiful so was the score. The rest of the film.. Lame.

reply

I didn't cry when he fell but when Mulan dug his sword into the ground and starting crying and yelled his name that made a few tears drop.

"You brave little soldier, I acknowledge your pain. Come here. You're too precious for this world!"

reply

Yep....yep, I did...not gonna lie...plus I wasn't sure if they would actaully let him die (since, as someone commented they have ended moovies kinda gloomily beofore, Pochahontas). Soooo glad he didn't die.

reply

Yeah, I cried.......I cried because I actually spent money of this piece of crap. I loved the original Mulan, but here they screwed up all the ancient Chineese traditions the first one kept close too and made a terrible little girl movie. When Shang fell in the water? At that point I didn't give a crap about the movie anymore and because Disney has a "nobody dies" rule is every movie except the classics, I knew as a fact thath e would survive, and what do you know, he did. I gave this a well deserved 1/10, and almost had a heart-attack when I saw that over 100 people gave this a perfect 10.

McDreamy was doing the McNasty with a McHottie? That McBastard!

reply

I was sad because I knew he isn't gonna die anyway. I'd LOVE if he actually died because I'm sick of happy endings =P

Mulan II was a sweet movie but I agree, the Shang nearly dying scene brought tears to my eyes. I know that Disney doesn't make no one die, but besides the Pocahontas comment that was mention twice, I do recall that they have killed off some of their main characters' parents like Simba's father Mufasa in The Lion King and Bambi's mother. Doesn't does count?

YAY! CLIFF WHEEEE! I LOVE FREE FALLING AND I DON'T GIVE A HOOT! LOL!

reply

I cried at how bad Mulan 2 was overall.

reply

LOL... i have to agree with you?? I wonder what happened to the Middle Kingdom and Mongols, though?

By the by, try to watch "Hua Mulan" 2009.. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1308138/
Now that's sad..

I remember crying when Shang fell into the river. Looking back on it, I'm surprised they put a scene such as that one in a direct-to-video sequel.
I enjoy the movie, but it's a shame the rest of the film isn't as good (read: fantastic) as that one scene.
