Favourite song? Why not..

I'm breaking my own rule and listing two. Okay so I don't actually have a rule. Just state your favourite song or songs.

1 - Confrontation
2 - Dangerous Game

I know a lot of people loooove This is the Moment, Once Upon a Dream, Someone Like You...great songs no doubt, but I really enjoy the two I listed.

Anyone else? My this is an active board...

You're gone away; You don't feel me here anymore

i think hassel turned this into a comedy. anyone else find his "oh dear god" funny the first time he changes into hyde? or that he puts his butt EVERYWHERE on the set during that part? i spent more time laughing, its a joke compared to the real thing.

reply

In no particular order. ;)
1 - No One Knows Who I Am
2 - Someone Like You
3 - Facade
4 - A New Life
5 - Bring on the Men (I was disappointed that it was dropped)
6 - Murder
7 - This is the moment

I confess that Hasselhoff's "oh dear God" does make me giggle.

Oh gosh that part was hilarious.

Are you in God's grace?
Joan of Arc: If not, God put me there, and if so, God keep me there!

That scene has me in hysterics every time I watch it! I had a friend who made a comment that I'll never forget. It's rather crude, so don't read on if you are likely to be offended..... My friend said that during his first "Oh dear God" David looks like he's getting "it" from behind!

reply

Hasselhoff was wrong for this part but whatever, it's still a great musical. I cannot choose just one song to be my favorite songs, but the songs I listen to the most and I enjoy the most are:
The Way back
This is the Moment
I Need to know (why was this not in this version?!)
Confrontation
A New Life

I also like the Board of Governors scene where Jekyll tries to convince them to let him test his formula.

I love (in no order)
*A New Life
*Somone Like You
*In His Eyes
*Take Me as I Am
*This is the Moment

I also really like the song Bring On The Men which was cut from the show and was replaced with Good and Evil.

reply

Ive really gotten into Jekyll & Hyde at the moment, im always listening to it now!

My fave songs i think are
*Take Me as I Am*
*Someone Like You*
*This is the Moment*

I recently had a viewing of this movie at my house with a bunch of friends of mine as part of a "so horrible they're hilarious" movie night. When David said "Oh dear God" we all completely lost it. We rewound that part a good five times before continuing with the movie. Easily one of the funniest moments I've seen in a movie in a while...

reply

I LOVE that part, he says it without any emotion! Anyway I prefer the original cast and my fave songs are dangerous game and confrontation, because when you listen to Robert Cuccioli sing it literally sounds like two different people doing it.

reply

"Confrontation" and "Dangerous Game" are my favorite songs, too! "Your Work - And Nothing More" is a close third, though.

"You who swallowed a falling star, o' heartless man, your heart shall soon be mine."

LOL yes they are amazing. I've been listening to Dangerous Game all day. I watched the DVD again today and...I really didn't care for Hasselhoff's take on DG as much as I had before, but it's still pretty good. And Coleen Sexton is awesome, IMO.

Oh and from the Concept Recording (with Anthony Warlow ) I *love* The World Has Gone Insane.

Neh. I don't really like Hasselhoff as Jekyll/Hyde. My favorite version of "Dangerous Game" is from the Original Cast Recording. Robert Cuccioli has an amazingly sexy and seductive voice.

Haha no one *liked* Hasselhoff as Jekyll/Hyde I guess. Or few did. He could have been worse but still. I don't like him in the role much either.
I love the ORC of Dangerous Game too, definitely. I assume you've heard Warlow's then? I don't think I could chose between the two versions. Hehe.

Actually, I'm not sure... the only CD I've been able to get is the Original Cast Recording, but my friend sent me another version of "Dangerous Game," but I'm not sure who sang it.

I only have a few songs from this recording but if you are interested I think I can hook you up with more. It's pretty good.

I loved the Anthony Warlow version until i heard the CD with the original recording - then i realised how they screwed the Warlow one, and attempted to make the songs into a pop genre - but people can appreciate different things i guess...

Its was only this year that Jekyll and Hyde has been performed where i am from, and i loved it. I original saw the version iwth Hasselhoff, and why he is not brillant, at least people are able to see the genuis of Leslie Bircusse (spelling bad) and Robert Louis Stevenson, although the musical is greatly differed from the original text

I did this show last summer with a communtiy theatre (Lookinglass Playhouse) and played the part of Miss Lucy Harris. So, of course, I'm impartial. However, I would have to say that my favorites are:

1. Someone Like You
2. Dangerous Game
3. His Work and Nothing More (I LOVE this son. I used to rush my costume change to listen to it.)
4. Sympathy, Tenderness
5. Alive (This actually freaks me out...this song is truly creepy.)
6. Murder, Murder
7. A New Life
8. Facade
9. Streak of Madness
10. Bring On The Men (my parents almost *beep* themselves when they saw this little number!)

These are my favorites, in order. I also love "In His Eyes", but the lady who played Emma always forgot which part was hers. Thank goodness it was okay for the showings, but rehearsals...I was scared.

I only saw the movie because our director wanted myself and Michael (our Jekyll/Hyde) to block the scene the same as they did. It was nice to get a different take on the show (I had never even seen/heard of it until I learned of the auditions and received the part). So, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Sorry to rant and rave. I loved this damn show...it was the most fun I've had in a part. :)

Hmmmm.... I like Bring On The Men from the original production (haven't seen this cause I'm in the UK, but I've heard this version doesn't have Bring On The Men in it) and I like the three stages of the transformation songs (Beofre the transformation: "This Is The Moment" during the transformation: "Transformation" and after the transformation: "Alive") and of course: "Confrontation" and I also like "Facade" and the numerous reprises it has.

By the way, I know Victoria's Secret: She's a slut!

I *love* Bring On The Men. It's fabulous... I wish they hadn't changed that to Good 'N Evil. I like that one, but not as much.

My favorites would be the enticing "I Need to Know", the well-written "Facade", the outstandingly dramatic "Board of Governors", the saucy "Bring On the Men," the stellar "This Is The Moment", the campy "Transformation", the rousingly evil "Alive", the hauntingly melodious "His Work And Nothing More", the hilarious "Murder, Murder", the fantastic "The World Has Gone Insane", and the superb "Confrontation".
