I've bought the soundtrack and just from listening to it have become a die-hard fan. I've never seen the show, and just looking at this Hasselhoff version makes me sick. WHY would they do this when the show had such potential for a great REAL movie. I would be thrilled to see a movie get made, but if they recast Hasselhoff I just might shoot myself after shooting any and all people responsible for sucha decision. Even Cucciolli is a better choice. Hasselhoff might have been the worst choice in Broadway History.
Oh, and if Linda Eder isn't in the movie cast, I probably definitely wouldn't go see it. I know I'm gonna get some disagreement w/ this, but she makes this show. She is what sold me, she is who blows me away every time. W/o her, this show might not be worth it. Getting Christianne Noll to reprise her role would be nice too, however I think Emmy Rossum could do a fine job w/ that part.
The two things I will not stand for is recasting Hasselhoff and not casting Linda Eder. Especially Linda Eder. When I saw that she wasn't in this Hasselhoff version, it made me positive I didn't want to see it, and I wondered why anyone would. Hasselhoff...honestly!!!
Like I previously stated, a well-made movie would be a miracle. I adore the Original Broadway Cast Soundtrack. If they botched it like this version tho, I might die.

I agree. Linda Eder really makes the show, and without her it doesn't have the same power. There is a reason she has been in the final Broadway version and the recordings previous to that. Yeah...Hasselhoff just...doesn't work. I'm not certain as to whether I agree with you about Emmy Rossum, though. She almost seems too young for the part of Emma. Either way, though, Linda Eder must be in it.

Good point. Emmy Rossum is pretty young looking. Didn't think about that. I just realized her voice fits the part very well.

Even though Coleen Sexton is best Lucy ever, I'd also like to see Idina Menzel, Eden Espinosa, Kristy Cates, Stephanie J. Block or Kristen Stewart as Lucy.

I am afraid that Emmy Rossum might ruin the show(she's pretty and an OKAY singer but her acting is really really horrible!)

I strongly support Siri Svegler(a Swedish actress and singer who speaks excellent RP) or Jen Nikolaisen(if she sings) as Lucy.

Emma, Hayley Westenra.

True, but if what their saying about the J&H musical film, these are the songs I hope they put in.

Bring on the Men
Lucy Meets Jekyll
Lucy Meets Hyde
the Mass scene
etc.

All of those, other added songs, into the movie. it would be fine! :)

They took it down...now it's this supposed modernization with Forest Whitaker and 50 Cent in it.

This would be my cast:

Dr. Jekyll/Hyde: Jonathan Rhys Myers - sexy, great actor, and he can SING. He has the role's range, I checked, as he hits a high A natural in "August Rush"

Emma: Romola Garai - a great actress in British film and television. You can look her up, she has a beautiful soprano voice. You can watch her pretend to sing badly in this clip from "Daniel Deronda" on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujOdEBgOPvw

Lucy: Jessica Ellen Cornish (otherwise known as Jessie J) - this might seem like an odd choice, but she definitely has Lucy's range and she was trained in musical theatre. She appeared in Anrdew Lloy'd Webber's "Whistle Down the Wind" in the West End

reply

Here's mine....

Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde: Josh Dallas - Jennifer Morrison (his co-star on "Once Upon a Time") said in an interveiw that he, herself and Ginnifer Goodwin and can all sing. Besides I think I would love to see him in an anti-hero role.

Emma: Emmy Rossum - I LOVED her and her voice in "The Phantom of the Opera" and we need to see her in another musical so that's pretty much why.

Lucy: Natalie Dormer - This might be a risky choice providing I don't know if she sings or not. But from what I've seen of her performance on "The Tudors" I think she has the acting chops for it. UPDATE: I just found out she sings mezzo-soprano.
