How do they do this? That one character with the oxygen (sorry can't remember her name) looks just like you would think the "younger version" of her would look grown up. This is one of those things hollywood does that is so cool in my opinion. Anyone know how they work this magic? Is there a particular person on the casting staff of films such as these that is assigned to find young/older "lookalikes"? Just thought it was interesting.
yeah they were talking about it on the commentary, if you have the movie its really interesting to watch..oh and the womans name is Caro in the movie :)
Katie Bryce: My head is full. Dr. Meredith Grey: It's called thinking. Go with it
Im not certain how they do this either, but i have always loved it too--it fascinates me. Have you seen, "Now And Then" with Christina Ricci, Rosie O'donnel, etc? They did a GREAT job with that one--and all of the actresses were already pretty much established. Who would have thought that somewhere deep inside Rosie was a Ricci? It's perfect haha.
Oh i know! in Now and Then the characters were PERFECT! The only thing that surprised me was that Roberta (Ricci), who was really active, ended up being larger than i thought she would (Rosie). But personality and looks-wise it was incredibly believable.
if you watch Click, it's amazing how much Adam Sandler's grown son both looks and sounds like him. Ditto for his daughter looking like the daughter of Kate Beckinsale. I love when movies go that extra mile to make sure there's continuity.
You couldn't be more correct. I remember being blown away by Mayim in that movie-- it went beyond the physical resemblance. She had Bette's energy, voice quality, everything. So cool
I saw that for the movie Big Fish they cast the two actors who play younger and older Edward Bloom based in part on how the younger actor looked identical to the older one when he was younger. Maybe they looked at photos of the older actresses when they were younger to help them find good actors to play them when they were kids or younger.
