GRUESOME, but GOOd

this movie is really really raw. It's sad that mexico keeps being portrayed as only poverty and corruption, but at the same time that is reality.

sEE it for yourselves

well it's only a light vision of what really happens in the country (like Man On Fire with Denzel Washington) corruption, drugs and a lot of politic crap.

It's one of the many portrays of México, not the only one. I am for making movies like "De la calle" but I am also for making other kind of movies, actuallly they are being done but somehow the ones that draws the attention of the international media and moviegoers are this kind of movies.

perhaps because they are the most powerful. I dunno.

I repeat, this movie reflects ONE ugly but true side of the mexican society, but to think that every mexican lives like that it's not only stupid but also erroneous. As erroneous as to think that every mexican lives in a kind of "fairy tale" as depicted in the foolish soap operas.

Or as erroneous as to believe that every american are fat, lazy, junkies, violent, illiterate and racist, just because LOTS of movies portrays the "american" society and people in that way.

BTW I have seen similar movies from lots of countries, both rich and poor. impoverished people who have to fight in order to survive exists everywhere, sadly.

I agree - De La Calle is a great film - but I wish there were more movies about Mexico that werent just about crime and violence. I would like to see more focus on how cool Mexico is. I have been to Mexico City twice - and about the worst thing that happened to me was getting stuck in traffic.
