Would Smallville have been better if he was Connor Kent instead of Clark?

I never liked how they made him Clark but gave him some of Connor's friends such as Bart and Cyborg.

If he had been Connor the no flights no tights would have made a lot more sense. Or atleast the no tights.

It could have still been Smallville. Keep Chloe but ditch Lana and Pete.

Still open with the Meteor Shower and show Kal finding the kents but then flash forward 30 years and have Superman bring Connor to Smallville for the kents to raise like they did for him.

He could still fight the meteor freaks.
