A great aspect of comedy is when someone gets cast in 2 or 3 major roles (the case of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events starring Jim Carrey, who was ironically playing the same character, who was playing 3 different roles, including himself, and Norbit starring Eddie Murphy) in the same film.

I can fix a few spots on the casting.

How about...

Mark Ruffalo as Seta
Dakota Fanning as Sarah McDougall
Rachael Leigh Cook as Motoko Aoyama
Amber Tamblyn as Naru Narusegawa
Rachael Ray as Tsuruko Aoyama
Victoria Hester as Shinobu Maehara
Elisha Cuthbert as Kitsune Konno
Beyonce Knowles as Kaolla Su
Rosario Dawson as Amalla Su
Jon Abrahams as Shirai

How's that for part of a cast?

reply

[sweat drop]
I don't know about that cast... I mean, seeing Dakota Fanning as Sarah could just creep me out (I think Victoria Hester is better than Dakota).

How about...

Jared Padalecki as Keitaro Urashima/Lamba Lu
Paris Hilton as Kitsune Konno
Neve Campbell as Tsuruko Aoyama
Sarah Michelle Gellar as Naru Narusegawa
Chad Michael Murray as Kentaro Sakata
Nancy McKeon as Haruka Urashima
Sally Field as Grandma Urashima (Hey, make-up did work for her in Forrest Gump)
Nicole Richie as one of the Su sisters

Let's see what's your opinion of this.

reply

Sorry, but Sarah Michelle Gellar's too old for the part of Naru (Emma Watson's better this time).

reply

Striking resemblance. Emma will be a better choice.

My top pick for Keitaro instead of Jared Padalecki?

Daniel Radcliffe would be Keitaro/Lamba Lu. Glasses from Harry Potter, right hairdo, perfect!

Get a cast like this together, in a farcical slapstick comedy directed by the closest thing we've got to Blake Edwards, and -- well, it's certain to be --insane.

reply

I looked at their pics, and I got to admit, that's a great list you got. Jon Heder, being known as Napoleon Dynamite, makes a good Haitani, while Jonah Hill would be Shirai. Ashley Tisdale...excellent choice as Naru. Ashley plays the arrogant Sharpay on High School Musical, so she should nail the arrogance of Naru spot on. Rachel Nichols looks beautiful to be Kitsune, but have the hair to be shorter. Devon Aoki should have a black wig and swordsmanship skills to be Motoko, but anyway, your cast is good. :)

reply

Great - thanks! ;)

I kinda disagree with many of your casting choices, many of you also list actors that are just too old to play the parts you pick them for.

Also, Disney would never do a film with so much sexual references :p and where's KeNtaro in the lists?
