So a bunch of Reality Tv Stars....

Some UK soap stars, a footballer, a guy famous for having lots of surgery to look like a Ken doll, a model, a financial criminal and Kirstie Alley oh and Stormi was a no show!

C5 scraping the barrel here with Kirstie being arguably the only real celebrity.

reply

Yep, I just can't watch this year. Kirstie Alley is the ONLY actual celebrity! She's also the only one I've even heard of besides that "Married at First Sight" total utter clown, and I only know of him because I watched that stupid show, and couldn't stand him there either.

This show is a joke but at least it can be even a tiny bit interesting when there are actual famous people with real careers behind them, and your curiosity is piqued as to how they're going to fare.

But this bunch? Gimme a break. It really is time this show was axed.

This show was my guilty pleasure, I used to love the anticipation of wondering who would be in it and wondering who would get along. I mean Pete Burns, George Galloway, Rula Lenska and Michael Barrymore all in the same house ffs! That was gold.
It does now seem to be all about reality "stars".It's bizarre a reality show for people whose fame is generally for getting off with people on reality shows.
I won't be watching either. Channel Five seem to have destroyed it.

Same here, it was my guilty pleasure!! I enjoyed seeing the interactions between people we only see behaving at their best on the red carpet or in interviews - when it actually used to be stars, lol. It was often surprising as to who turned out to be more likeable than we expected, and who didn't!

Now that they're scraping the bottom of the barrel - a reality show filled only with people who are from reality shows, it's like the show is imploding in on itself. Ah well, at least that takes one thing off my daily stuff to watch or record. More time to read a book, take a walk, lol!

reply

Definitely! Freedom from the commitment of watching night after night, actually being excited to see who was nominated, hard to believe I once got excited over this show haha!
Do you remember the first one? Jack Dee was in it I think, it was so different.

For the first time last year I didn't finish watching I'm a Celebrity either.

Am I imagining this, or did the earliest ones of this show way, way, back when it started had much harsher conditions in the house? Like, it wasn't luxurious but very spartan, so it was kind of a psychological hardship not just a comfortable "vacation" type of situation?

reply

No you're not imagining it, it was very basic indeed. I can't remember hot tubs and pools and an endless supply of drink.
The original Big Brother was meant as a social experiment if memory serves.
