Revisionist Media History aka Why People Think its Racist...

People for some reason feel it valid to post topics on boards of films such as this and other movies that contain "racial content" and whine racism mainly are young people who grew up with the media's new revisionist history where they're not exposed to how blatantly racist Hollywood and televison actually were back in the day. I was born myself in the late 70s but at a very young age I saw certain things on television before the what I call "revisionist edits" of television programs such as old Tom and Jerry and Popeye cartoons where Blacks and other races were depicted horribly. I remember alot of the Tom and Jerry cartoons with "Mammy" before her voice was re-dubbed. Alot of people, mainly young people are not aware of this re-imagining of movies and television shows because they've only grown up with the watered down re-edited versions of these programs. When you see a film such as Undercover Brother and Kings of Comedy or any other film that people deem "reverse racist" is because those minority actors and actresses are usually old enough to remember the way the country was before this new era of "Political Correctness" took effect and generally share their experiences because the racism whether we want to admit it or not is still there. Adding more fuel to the fire are closet racists who feel its their duty to complain about what they feel is racist anonymously on message boards for movies and television shows which through their own humor actually dipicts how stupid and assinine racism actually is.

Actually, half the time people just can't differentiate between racism and stereotyping...

Its obvious why they try to boost blacks in the media, because of white guilt they feel the need to compensate blacks for slavery and negative stereotypes in older cinema like you said, but they took it to far, instead they created some false positive sterotypes about black people that wherent based on reality at all and depicted whites with new and negative stereotypes that also came from nowhere.

It is reverse racism, just because blacks got treated badly before does not give them the right to be compensated for it.

There are plenty of other minorities that where treated badly by whites as well (chinese, japanese, south asians, native americans) although these minorities dont get nearly the same ammount of compensation in terms of trying to improve their image in the media.
The main reason for this is probably because blacks where the weakest and thus the easiest for europeans to exploit, while all the other minorities put up a much better fight, and some of them are a threat to the west (in terms of economy) today and increasingly so, specifically China and India.

in comparison blacks in africa are not a threat, while there are many blacks in america so they need to keep them content and they do it by improving their image in the media with false stereotypes.

You know what? There's people with all kinds of prejudices and bigotry in their heads. It's been happening since cavemen were fighting over kills, mates and watering holes in prehistoric times.

I think the best you can do is to keep yourself civil, and try to meet the other fellow on his level in terms of interpersonal interaction.

It's more this film wasn't to funny. Some parts of it were. Like when the guy complains the white guy became a agent but didn't have to go through the traing he did and his boss says when asked why "Afirmative action" or at the end when Brother tries to say behind every black man is a strong black woman one guy says "The police?".

Or when Brother shakes the mechincal hand and it says "You have sole brotha".

But overall, it just wansn't funny, a joke can be sterotypical, but if it's funny people won't mind it. But if it's not funny, then it turns into a insult. And alot of the sterotypes shown in this film are the latter.
