Anguirus.

Oaky, who says that someone should start a "Bring back Anguirus" Foundation? Maybe give him a solo adventure? ANY ONE!?

How about this? Drumroll, please...

ANGUIRUS vs. GIGAN

Well, what do ya think???

Oh, cool!

reply

I would watch, but I doubt they would allow Anguirus vs. Gigan b/c of Godzilla vs. Gigan, but maybe an all new kaiju that walks on all fours like him lol that would be weird.

reply

I picture they would just call the movie "Anguirus" And have him fight Gigan in it. Because those two just seem like Arch-enemies.

reply

It would be cool if they had a 'Rebirth of Anguiris' like they had 'Rebirth of Mothra.'

reply

I think it would be cool if there could be something like a GMK equivalent with Anguirus.

reply

Realistically speaking, I would think Gigan would have a huge advantage here. Anguirus is a kaiju that mostly is stuck with ground level attacks, and even if he could stand upright on his hind legs, he wouldn't be a match for Gigan in this position. Gigan not only has the hooks at the end of his arms as weapons that he can use in a standing position (with a reach advantage, I might add), but Gigan can also fly. As much as I live Anguirus, he doesn't have great offensive capabilities against most of the other Godzilla kaiju.

That being said, what might be a more interesting and even match would be Anguirus vs Manda. Both low to the ground monsters, and while Anguirus has a huge defensive advantage, Manda might be able to match that with a major agility advantage. What I'm not sure about is if either has any speed or strength advantage.

I agree, an Anguirus movie where he fights Gigan.

I also want to see another Rodan movie..

reply

Rebirth of Anguirus would probably do very poorly in the bow office, but it would be awesome to see one of my favorite kaiju to come back.

reply

Yeah, I think if Anguirus will reappear, than only in a Godzilla-Movie - And than as his foe (just "supporting cast" like Baragon in GMK)!

But a movie with Radon would be really interesting...

But first, I think, Varan should have a bigger appearance in a Godzilla-Movie... Why...? He had its own movie (no matter if it was bad or not) and was a really fascinating Kaiju - And his 12-Seconds-in-the-Whole-Movie-Appearance in Kaiju Soshingeki (Destroy all Monsters) was really disappointing... :-(

reply

Anguirus vs. Barugon: Battle of the Monsters.

THat would be cool, don't you think?

reply

Do you mean baragon, cause Barugon is a Gamera kaiju.

PS. Baragon wouldn't have the slightest chance against Anguirus.

There are a lot of kewl underappreciated Kaiju like Anguiurs, Varan, Gorosaurus, Oodaku(Giant Octopus) that was seen in King Kong Vs. Godzilla, War of the Gargantuas, and a cut scene in Frankenstein Conquers the World.

Every single Jedi, including your friend: Obi-Wan Kenobi, is now an enemy of the Republic.

Hear hear. If any Kaiju is overused, it's Mothra.

Baragon wouldn't have the slightest chance against Anguirus.

Actually, Baragon has a very good chance of winning a fight with Anguirus.

While GMK Baragon resorted to only tooth and claw attacks, original Baragon from Frankenstein Conquers the World was equipped with a heat beam that he primarily used to bore through earth and make digging easier, but he also used it as an effective offensive weapon. Granted, the heat beam is no where near the strength of Godzilla's radiation beams, but they should prove powerful enough to give Anguirus pause, especially since he's known to blindly rush into attack (against Gigan's freaking chest saw, for pete's sake!).

Also, Baragon is capable of fighting while standing upright. Anguirus is capable of standing upright also, but he doesn't seem to be able to do it for longer than a few seconds, at best.

Lastly, Baragon is every bit as tenacious as Anguirus. In his fight against Frankenstein, Baragon continued fighting, even though they were about to be sunken by an active volcano.

Final Wars Anguirus may have even less of a chance. We saw him do nothing except run and turn into a ball. Curling up into a giant spiked wrecking ball may be good for bowling a foe over, but I doubt if it will ever grant him a win.

Definitely,. Anguirus is an under-appreciated mofo with a relatable 'underdog' status in the Godzilla universe.

Also, folks should check out the recent first issue of the Godzilla Legends comic by IDW, where Anguirus fights on against Destroyah despite the high stakes, great read for the kaiju fans.
