the 6.7 rating sounds mediocre, comments here seem not exactly glowing...I watched Cold Mountain last week, which was good enough to get me to keep on and sit it out at least, I thought......this is 4 hours including commercials although I will be able to FFWD those at least..as a non-American casually interested in ACW...should I bother?

(someone recommended "Pharaoh's Army " as a far better option, but it is 20 years+ old now, and very hard to find, as well)

YES, definitely watch it.

Only watch it if you want to intentionally watch a terrible movie.

I would say you should not. It is very choppy and not well done. Gettysburg, is good though I would not call it great.

Civil War films I would recommend: Andersonville
Ironclads
The Great Locomotive Chase (Fess Parker)
The Horse Soldiers (John Wayne)
Glory (Matthew Broderick and Morgan Feeman)
