Scott Pilgrim remind anybody of FLCL?

Months from now this will probably get a response, but I recently started and finished the Scott Pilgrim comic series (the one that is currently being made into a movie) and it kept making me think of FLCL. The way FLCL talks about anime, in relation to the story and characters and the deeper metaphors of anime to real life, are very similar to Scott Pilgrim's video-game inspired lifestyle. It's kinda cool because I related to Naota when I was younger and now I relate to Scott.

Oh, and random thought splurge- I plugged in my recorded tape with FLCL on it and watched it again for the first time in a few years. Commander Amarao scenes still give me chills... the way he yells at Naota pleading for him not to trust Haruko and his narrations of N.O are just badass. Great voice work.

Yup! For me it was the other way round, though, as I just watched FLCL after seeing the SP movie and reading half the comic series. They even both have a Rickenbacker bass guitar heavily featured ;)

Scott Pilgrim wishes it could pull off half the visual flair and engaging characters FLCL has.

No offense to the OP of course, I did enjoy Scott Pilgrim on a very shallow basis, and sometimes quote it, but nothing has ever compared to FLCL for me.

"That's the karma again, I didn't help Kenny so she beat me up with a telephone"

Not at all.
FLCL it's very unique, Haruko has a really speacial mission, and yeah, she plays a lefty Rickenbacker bass, as far as I remember, Scott Pilgrim plays guitar, not bass guitar. I know this was changed in the movie version, but he is a guitarist.
Scott is all about Ramona, he's more like Mamimi, but not Haruko at all, and the stories are way too different.

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language.
