Is this the same film?

Hello. I hope someone out there can help me. I was returning from Mexico to the US on a luxury bus that came equipped with DVD screens. The driver pretty much has a carousel of discs and he just hits 'play' and one movie after another is shown. On this particular trip I had fallen asleep while a dubbed version of "Chasing Liberty" was being shown but when I woke up it was over and another film was showing. I didn't pay attention to it so i just put on some headphones to listen to music but kept watching the movie. What was going on screen though started to interest me. Since it was not subtitled I can only assume it was in Spanish but not necessarily a Spanish film.

The premise, as i watched it, dealt with a married man, with one son, who pretended to have a good job when he actually appeared to be taking money from people in order I guess to maintain his lifestyle. One afternoon he comes home and runs into the babysitter, a foxy 17-year old babe and he is absolutely smitten, to where he deliberately starts "bumping" into her out in the street. After 1/2 hour of watching i decided to remove my headphones and really pay attention to see how this movie would be resolved but the bus arrived at our destination and the driver shut off the movie. i thought I could get the title from the bus company but they never responded to my e-mails and repeated visits to Blockbuster has yielded no results.

One friend suggested I was probably watching "L'Emploi du temps" but when I researched it on IMDB, none of the summaries mention the hot 17-year student the main character appears to be falling for. Is this the actual title or is this another film? Can anyone help me?? Thanks in advance to whoever helps.

No, the main character in this film has 2 sons, and a young daughter the eldest child is possibly 13, the main female characters are the man's wife and mother.

I sincerely hope you had more to enjoy and remember from your trip to Mexico then the movie to which you are referring. I'd be happy to read any anecdotes that you have but this certainly isn't the movie to which you are referring.

Wishing you well.

Thanks for your kind response. I did have a great time in Mexico (Monterrey to be exact) but this film is driving me to distraction, especially as the bus company never returned my queries. I even gave them the bus number and day of my return - all to no avail.

I honestly would have liked to see how it ended. It appeared like the main character's double life and this young lady he was infatuated with were going to collide and the results would not be pretty.

You should try asking it in this topic, no doubt you'll find it then:

You probably know by now, but yes, the film you half-watched was 'La vida de nadie', as dsnasal already told you. I've watched the 3 films based on the same real life story recently, it's interesting how each of them has its own approach to what happened. I wouldn't have expected this not very popular Spanish film shown on a bus trip from Mexico, by the way.
