critically acclaimed

According to rotten tomatoes Insomnia is Nolan's second best movie behind The Dark Knight with 93%. I personally also think Insomnia is left behind when Nolan's films are being discussed.

i found all his movies crappy except for memento that was interesting.

And so it should be wonderful film and his best movie by a country mile IMO another one the morons on imdb got right I see it's has highest critical notices of his career withe the exception of the dark knight and memento criminally underrated gem and turds on hear give a collective rating of just over 7 yet proceeded to rank the frankly droll inception , the dark knight rises and the prestige higher I know we all have opinions but that I will never I do not understand this movie needs some love

i don't have opinions, i know the truth, nolan is a fascist idiot.

I think it's extremely underrated, I can't believe a film that got so praised by critics and did fairly well seems rather forgotten today, even with Nolan's name on it.

Insomnia was one of the best thrillers of the last decade and features a great late performance from Pacino and I love the way it's filmed and put together.

Sure it could have a few more twists, but it's a fine character study and the ending is always very moving to me.

It is a very good movie and these days you simply don't have actors like Al Pacino.

reply

Yes,Insomnia has 93% but that is not its average score....for a film to be fresh,it needs 3 outta 5 so the percentage is often misleading if a film is solid, pretty good and enjoyable on the whole.

I agree. TDK is my favorite Nolan movie, but if I had to choose a second it would be this one. Everything else is just ok or good, nothing great or amazing. To me, Nolan makes extremely well-made films (they're shot brilliantly, acting is top-notch, story is interesting) but I find something about them superficial and boring. They're great movies, but I don't particularly enjoy them, do you know what I mean? They have no heart, if that makes sense. Just my opinion, though. I absolutely love TDK, that's one exception.

Been watching Narcos, I'm feeling cocky

Yes, he’s too cold and clinical, bit of a Walter Finch.

Pacino gives Insomnia some warmth. McConaughey does the same for Interstellar. As a result those are his best films.
