Even though no one was murdered in the movie, that man would not stop, she needed witness protection or something similar. Check out the lifetime movie "Run For Your Life" starring Amy Smart, i don't think any movie characters were murdered, yet she was still able to get a new identity and go to a safe house with the help of some undercover cops, this is what Slim needed, her biological father helped her financially, but that wasn't enough, the husband still found her, she tried to do her own witness protection, but she needed professionals to help her, she never sought them out.
