Oops. Anyway, people used to expect performers to be able to sing, dance and act but I have noticed in today's media it is laughed at. Lopez was excellent in Selena and she's had a few enjoyable movies in her career, though I agree this movie isn't one. Perhaps if she'd have a normal life, even by Hollywood standards, people would take her seriously. I'm not saying you're wring because this is subjective but if you'd look back at her movies and the critics reviews they rarely call her acting out, just the poor quality of the movie. To see what I mean check out Roger Ebert's review of this movie.

Roger Ebert rated my favorite movie "Lili" (with Leslie Caron) with only 2 out of 4 stars. Why would I take anything coming from RE serious?

I liked her in this movie, too.

Unfortunately Enough is a very flawed movie. Lopez is superb in the lead role, but the film is a confused mix of social drama and action movie met with a touch of exploitation. Much of Enough is very good, especially the action sequences and the use of title cards in a set up that needed to reveal a bit more of the husband's character before turning him into a single-minded villain. However, this episodic structure is to the film's advantage, although it's quite unusual here. Furthermore, some of the best aspects of the movie are found in Slim's resolve to look after her daughter and remain alert. Whilst Lopez is very convincing with regards to the training sequences and the ultimate showdown. There's also real poignancy in the final shot of her sitting alone when the police arrive. I like Enough, although it's not one of my favourite Jennifer Lopez vehicles, but I've seen similar movie's that lack the forceful nature of this film's narrative and a leading actress who convinces as being receptive, wounded, protective and forceful. But the overarching conceit of the movie needed better writing and further development of characters whom we need a leap of faith to really believe in who they are. Especially the husband, whose turn is so contrived that he becomes nothing more than a plot device whose voice even changes to suit his new found persona. This aspect of the movie is badly contrived, whilst other scenarios involving his mother and the closed doors Slim encounters are only puzzling -- the lawyer's advice, for example. I guess the big payoff is whether one believes in the climax or relishes the husband getting what he deserves. In essence, though, we're in Straw Dogs or I Spit on Your Grave territory here, and those are the kind of films Enough doesn't want to be like, but ultimately becomes.

LOL!! She doesn't act even a single line in this film--she says ever single line of dialog with exactly the same inflection. There's only ONE reason she's in this movie: She's hot.

Not really. Her performance is more weighty than the film. She does almost everything right around what's wrong with the movie. But she was cast because she had the right credentials for the role, not just looks-wise, but what she could bring to the film, the character, and no doubt her box office appeal at the time.

I agree. It's a very likable and remarkable film.
JenPez did a fantastic job with it. I found it uplifting.

I like the film too. But I agree with others here also. Jennifer Lopez is a so-so actress as a rule.
She does OK as Slim, but she's comes off as soap opera-ish in a lot of the scenes, especially when Mitch first hits her & also when she confronts him at the end.

The one film that she REALLY acts well in is "Angel Eyes".
That is Her Role. She was superb, she really shined.

I think she's a very good actress, but I agree with some of your points here. Still, it's good to see Angel Eyes getting some love. That's a gem of a movie. Lopez is just as good in An Unfinished Life and has better material regarding a woman fleeing from an abusive partner in that movie.

An Unfinished Life, yes, really enjoyed the little scene movie. We watched it for the cast, was not familiar with it at all.
