how does bail work?

I thought bail bondsmen normally get 10% of the bail they lay out. But in the opening scenes, the bail bondsman is promising Bucum 10% to return the bail jumper. How is the bondsman making any money if he has to pay out his entire commission to get his money back?

I thought the same thing. I came to the conclusion that: With Bucum he had to give the 10% on certain fugitives as they were a high risk and that with others he did not give the entire amount to Bucum.

I know how much money I will be getting in the near future and the people I owe money will be getting the amount I owe them. I am not giving one red cent to anyone whom I hate and if they are alive when I get my money I will not stop until the military takes them out legally and Im talking about my relatives and Tabitha and the others.

We are about to embark upon a procedure the CIA was more than willing to use on me I must say I find the reversal a tad ironic Sark Alias

The bail bondsman has to pay the entire bail, and doesn't get it back if someone jumps.
