2 Pints of Lager - Original Five Actors

I think it would be brilliant if the five original actors (Ralf Little, Will Mellor, Kathryn Drysdale, Sheridan Smith and Natalie Casey) all came back to do a re-imagining of 2 Pints because after Ralf's character, Jonny Keogh, left in 2007, the series just didn't have the same appeal.

And now with Sheriden and Kathryn gone in 2009, I think it would be a good idea to do one final series as a re-imagining and one of the five central characters has just had one very long dream which has last ten years (would be a very long dream) but this character wakes up and the new series plans out differently from the very first series or they could have Jonny and Janet ending up together, Gaz and Donna ending up together and Louise being the usual pest.

I just think it would be brilliant to have all five original actors back on 2 Pints for the very last series and a good way to finish everything on and I was really hoping that Ralf would change his mind and come back to 2 Pints sometime in 2008 or 2009 but there definitely was a massive falling out between him and Susan Nickson and I doubt that even today, the two of them are talking.

Does anyone else feel that they could bring back the five original characters and have a re-imagining of the very first series (which was shown in 2001) and show how different outcomes actually happened with them?

Not a chance. Ralf Little would never do it, and I kind of doubt Smith and Drysdale would return either.

I HATE it when movies/tv shows, at the very end, turn out to be "all a dream". It's a huge cop-out for writers when they can't be bothered to be creative, they just give up. It's a terrible way to end a show, or in this case begin one.

It was my fault. It was my skirt & my husband and your glass floor.

I've just read that the BBC has cancelled 2 Pints of Lager altogether so there is no more chances of anymore series being made on this popular comedy.

Apparently the BBC announced that the 2 Pints of Lager series had run it's course and they were going to invest the money into new comedies which were being developed or were in development.

It's sad news, especially seeing that the first six series were brilliant and everything looked good when Ralf Little announced that he was coming back at Johnny Keogh in May 2007, only to announce that he had quit the role in September 2007 to try new roles in TV and film (the main reason is because he'd had a series of arguments with the show creator Susan Nickson from late 2006 upto about Summer 2007) about which way the character of Johnny was heading so he quit and I think Susan Nickson did the wrong thing in killing Johnny off at the beginning of the next series in 2008.

From then on, 2 Pints of Lager never really recovered and when Sheridan and Kathryn quit in 2009, the writing was on the wall and I can now see why the BBC cancelled the show altogether this year but I kept on hoping that the report that Johnny had been killed by a shark (stupid and pathetic storyline) would be a fabrication and that he would re-appear in a mistaken identity storyline either in 2008 or 2009 but it wasn't to be.

I found the final episode to be a bit of a downer as well with Gaz leaving Runcorn to go and travel the world and leaving the only remaining original character of Donna still stuck in Runcorn - hopefully she would have taken the decision to move on and move down to Milton Keynes to be with Janet and Corinthian but who knows.

What a sad way for a popular comedy TV series to finish!!

Yeah, I hate that it ended the way it did. I mean we never even got to find out what was wrong with Donna
