Just a stupid rumor. Most likely it will be TV-14, and it should be. The charm would be lost with a TV-MA rating.
Samurai Jack has always been dark but never gory.
I don't think it's going to be as bad as people think. There has been blood in the show before. If they went full on Nolan with this the show would lose a big chunk of its fan base.
shareYou know the one thing I hated about the old episodes? Those goddamned robots! Only reason they were there was to be hacked up by Jack without bloodshed or moral repercussions. What I really hated was the fact that Jack would fight a monster that appears to be flesh and blood, but the moment he chopped it up it out turn out to be a robot. This was always anticlimactic for me. When I see a creature, I want to be a friggin' creature.
I hope that the new episodes don't become too grim. Much of my favourite episodes were the comedic ones. That said, I don't mind a bit of blood now and again. Even the old episodes could have gone with Disney's Hercules route, where Jack could chop up a creature and it would shed green (and therefore unoffensive) blood.

TV-MA would suck. I'm even ok with TV-PG or even TV-Y7. If it gets TV-14 I'm ok with that as well, but TV-M gives me the feeling it would be out of very bad taste.

shareThat old Nickelodeon show Ren and Stimpy was revived with a TV-MA rating and it just overall sucked. Everything was way too forced. It got cancelled because of low ratings.
