Anyone Else Think That Orlando Bloom Should Have Played 'Ned'?

Judging from the real Ned Kelly's photo, he actually looks more like Orlando Bloom than Heath Ledger's features.

Bloom as Kelly? Uh, no....sorry I don't see that. He was just fine in the role he was in

Ledger was great as Ned Kelly

Orlando has only enough charisma to play elves and that is a sad fact.

He's managed to keep going out with one of our greatest treasures, that being Miranda Kerr, so he's not doing too bad for himself.

But in saying that, Heath played the part of Ned Kelly very well IMHO. Orlando playing Ned wouldn't have worked as well.

Superficially, I'd have to agree Bloom looks a lot more like Kelly than Ledger did. Not enough reason for him to get te part, though.

He was 15 in that photo. That is why its filename is ned_kelly_15.

At 25-26 when he was hanged he looked more like Ledger.

When it was announced that Orlando Bloom was to play Joe Byrne I thought it was a bad discussion (I still do). There was a sci-fi forum that I belonged to which had a forum just for Orlando Bloom. I made the mistake of commenting soon after his role was annoucned (and before filmimg had started) that I thought that Orlando Bloom would make a better Steve Hart than a Joe Byrne. All hell broke loose as little fan girls thought I was belittling the precious Orlando. These were girls who knew nothing about the Kelly legend and, even though I tried to explain my reasons, the admin decided it was better to ban me for being a troll.

You don't cast an actor purely on how much they look like the charachter.. Ledger is a far better actor...btw Bloom looks nothing like Ned Kelly, at all.
