Stray away!

Too anyone wishing to waste 1 hour and 45 minutes, this is the movie for you. However if you treasure your time I would reccomend not watching this movie, at least not until it's on TV for free. John Grisham is an amazing novel writer, however the same may not be said for his screenwriting skills. The movie's plot is very basic and centered very much around the little league. This is all well, however the sub-plot, which more than likely was meant to be the actual plot, destroys this movie. Grisham should have stuck with one plot or the other while writing this. He however bit of way more than he could chew. The acting was very dry and unskilled. Which should be expected considering the casting. The music was the most entertaining part of the movie. There was only ONE song in the film that licensing was probalby purchased for. The rest of the songs are cheep knockoffs of popular songs, with notes and lyrics slightly altered. The movie was topped off with the ending montage looking very much like a Mentos commercial. If you are to see any movie this weekend, I would reccomend seeing Mean Girls! Tina Fey has proven that she can write more than just SNL skits.

Well it's no wonder that you find the acting "dry and unskilled"! The boys are REAL little league players, not actors.

I, however, found the action anything BUT "dry". I'm not a baseball fan at all, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching boys being boys. The sub-plot (the father's IRS problems) provides the dramatic tension in the story line.

There was a very valuable moral to the story: our decisions affect more than just ourselves.
