The Movie footage ONLY!!!!

okay, So I'm hearing the gameplay is poor, which is fine by me becuase I don't play video games. BUT...I'm really interested in the hour or so footage shot by Jada Pinkett and the other guy that advances the Matrix story. Anybody know where I can go to see the footage without actually buying/playing the game? How good is the footage and how much does it add to the storyline?

I suggest renting the game (don't buy the PC version. It's worthless crap because of bad controls and it's a bit glitchy as in enemies can shoot through the box you're hiding behind in, etc.) Will bring you the FAQ.

It turns out that a lot of people didn't like Matrix Reloaded too much because A. The story is too complicated in one viewing, and B. There are plotholes as well, so I'm going to do what I can to answer those plotholes.

Note: This is for the people that DON'T have Enter The Matrix

Credit should be given to StoneKotr from Gamefaqs for putting up the Plot FAQ at Gamefaqs.

1. Why bother with Enter The Matrix?

The Wachowskis wanted to create the game and have it tie to the Matrix story because there is some information from the game that is not in the movie, (i.e. Ghost having a brother-sister relationship with Trinity, Commander Lock's softer side for Niobe, etc.). If all of that was in Reloaded, the movie would have been at least 5-9 hours and including the action sequences from the game, and the Wachowskis felt that it could detract from the main plot, not to mention some questions like, "Why the hell did they put in that scene? I want to see Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus!" The other reason is that the Wachowskis are emphasizing on how important Niobe and Ghost are since the movie never had the time to show that, and will foreshadow how big of a role Niobe and Ghost will have in Matrix Revolutions.

2. What is the Osiris? Why was it so important?

The Osiris was one of the ships in the fleet. In the Animatrix, Thadeus and his crew were traveling around doing their business, but they accidentally ran into an army of Sentinels. The Osiris turned around. Thadeus had Jue do an emergency broadcast drop of the intel into the Matrix disguised as a package while Thadeus makes a last transmission out to everyone that might hear it. As soon as Jue succeeded, the Sentinels destroyed the Osiris.

It turns out that the Logos probably heard the distress call. Niobe and Ghost had to find the package in a post office before the machines can retrieve the package. They succeeded.

3. How did most of the Resistance members show up at the meeting?

After Niobe and Ghost got out of the Matrix, Niobe started looking at the disk about the last transmission. Commander Lock was also viewing it as well and had Niobe recall the ships back to Zion. Niobe and Ghost went to an airport to call the rest of the fleet so that the machines would not be able to trace the calls that they made from the different payphones.

Unfortunately, Niobe got bad news from an operator named Jax (the operator that got impaled from the sentinel attack). One of Captain Soren's members (the people that died in the Sentinel attack at the end of the movie while trying to shut down the power plant), Axel (the guy limping in the movie trying to warn the operator)got captured. Niobe and Ghost split up, with Niobe trying to rescue Axel while Ghost meets up with Binary and Soren. Ghost follows Soren and Binary (the girl that was hacking the computer in the movie) to the control tower. Ghost provides cover fire for Soren and Binary. After escaping from Agent Jackson, Niobe calls Ghost telling him that Axel was on a Tarmac plane. Soren and Vector get into a car and shot out the cover of the front landing tire so Ghost can shoot the tire out with a sniper rifle, which attracted an Agent's attention. Shortly after, the Agent possessed a helicopter pilot and started shooting at Ghost. Ghost eventually destroyed the helicopter, sniped two cops driving the police SUV, and ended up at the first floor of the tower after the explosion. Soren and Binary entered one of the SUVs and Ghost entered the other one. Soren tells Ghost that he and Binary will distract the S.W.A.T. team so that Ghost can help Niobe rescue Axel. Niobe enters a second hangar fighting through more S.W.A.T. officers and got help from Vector (the black guy that went with Soren and Binary to the other power plant in Reloaded)

As Ghost drives, he sees Niobe enter the second plane by car and the plane took off. Ghost had to chase after the plane. Meanwhile, Niobe dispatched a few S.W.A.T. officers and grabbed two parachutes, one for Niobe, and one for Axel. Niobe managed to release Axel, and strapped the parachute on to him. Unlucky for them, an Agent possessed the pilot and prevented Niobe from putting on the parachute. Before the hatch closes, Axel flips off the Agent and jumps out. Niobe had to open the hatch and knock the Agent off the plane. She succeeded on doing that and jumps out of the plane with the parachute on. Axel gets captured again by another Agent, and Ghost was struggling on playing "catch up" with the Agent. As they entered a construction site, Axel put the seatbelt on the agent and messed around with the steering wheel, making the Agent fly out the window. Ghost gets Axel and calls the rest of the fleet while Sparks gives Ghost the coordinates of Niobe's location. Shortly after, the meeting place was in the sewers and the meeting started (which happens in the first few minutes of Reloaded).

4. Who's Sparks?

The operator of the Logos. Let's say he's the pessimistic comedy relief (He always keeps thinking that Niobe and Ghost will die before doing a mission in the Matrix), but always provides help whenever they need it. You can see him sitting next to Ghost in Reloaded at the Council.

5. Did everyone manage to escape while Neo was fighting the Agents?

In a word, yes, but some of the people were pinned down by S.W.A.T. Niobe or Ghost had to save them. It eventually led into a chase by an Agent. As soon as Niobe and Ghost hit a dead-end, the Keymaker saves them and has them enter the Programmer's hallway.

6. Now that you mentioned the Keymaker, is this how Niobe and Ghost knew him?

Yes. The Keymaker mentions about the key meant for the One, but Cain and Abel (The two guys guarding the passage to the dungeon in Reloaded) left one of the doors open and snatched the key. Niobe and Ghost enter the chateau through one of the doors and split up. There are two outcomes, when the player is playing as Niobe, Ghost gets captured. When the player is playing as Ghost, it's vice versa in the game. Ghost has to head for the roof to get a better reception while Niobe explores around the chateau. Both were fighting "Vampires."

Niobe or Ghost eventually end up at the secret room and Persephone tells him or her that if they want to save his/her partner, he/she has to kiss Persephone as if they were kissing their true love. If it was on Ghost, he exactly followed the instructions, but when it was on Niobe, she had to do it two times (like Neo in Reloaded). Niobe or Ghost fought through more enemies and eventually caught up to his/her partner. Unfortunately, the Merovingian destroyed the key, and the Keymaker had to remake it again in Reloaded. Niobe or Ghost had to fight Cain and Abel while at it. Niobe/Ghost knocked them into a prisoner's cell the prisoners grabbed a hold of them, buying Ghost and Niobe enough time for them to escape. As Niobe and Ghost walked down the hallway, they passed by the Keymaker's cell. The Keymaker told them that he couldn't forsee that their paths were not menant to cross yet. He then gives them a key to the garage to ensure that they escape. As soon as Niobe and Ghost entered the garage, they encountered the Twins. Niobe and Ghost entered a car and had to escape from the Twins. Shortly after, they found a hardline, exited the Matrix and then returned to Zion.

7. Now that you mentioned Cain and Abel, is this why Persephone said they caused more problems?

It seems to be pointing to the incident, yes. The Wachowskis have a good way of creating difficult clues.

8. How did Ballard get the data disk?

Ballard volunteered to stay behind and fought Seraph (scene was a bit funny at the end) to set up a meeting with the Oracle. It's possibly around the time Smith possessed Bane.

9. Now that Niobe and Ghost returned to Zion, what were they doing?

These two scenes take place before the Rave scene:

Niobe walks to her room, and Commander Lock visits her, just mainly about the act of insubordination. Niobe tells Lock in a calm way that Morpheus believes that they can win the war.

As Ghost plugs in to his Zen Garden program, Trinity joins him as well (which is around the time Neo was occupied by the believers). After a war of words which is part of their rivalry, the two spar each other, and Ghost eventually wins. Trinity asks Ghost if he believes that Neo can win the war, and he replies with a "yes." Trinity says she believes it, but she can't say how or why she believes it. Ghost tells her that it's beyond reason. Although he thinks that it's crazy to believe that Neo can single-handedly win the war, he just does so. Ghost and Trinity eventually plug out, asking Ghost if he's going to find a girlfriend. Ghost comes up with a lame answer about doing Onoism, but as Trinity leaves, Ghost looks sad (which is probably showing that he has feelings for her).

10. How did Trinity and Ghost have the brother-sister relationship?

According to one of the FAQs at Gamefaqs, it turns out that Trinity and Ghost were unplugged on the same day.

11. Why was Lock shocked that Niobe volunteered to look for Morpheus?

In one of the cutscenes, Seraph and the Oracle are talking to each other about the events that had happened. As Niobe and Lock were in a same room together, Lock told her that he convinced the Council to not let the Logos be part of the counter-attack and that he could not risk losing her. Niobe volunteered possibly because she was upset at Lock's decision.

12. How did Niobe and Ghost manage to catch up to Morpheus?

When Link told Niobe to follow the sirens, Niobe followed one of the police cars leading to the freeway. Niobe and Ghost eventually had their own problems fighting through the police and had to drive away from the Agents. Ghost was shooting at the police cars and sometimes had to concentrate on slowing down the Agents.

13. What did Niobe and Ghost do at the nuclear power plant?

Niobe and Ghost had to take their own paths in planting the bombs. Ghost and Niobe had two bombs each. Niobe plants one explosive at the Core and another at the generator while Ghost plants a bomb inside the main control room and at the Nuclear Waste sector. They succeeded, but something else went wrong, and the Logos lost contact with the Nebuchadnezzar.

14. What happened to the Logos do at the end of the movie?

Good question. The real beef. Seraph calls the Logos, and Niobe or Ghost fight Seraph and meet with the Oracle. When Niobe meets the Oracle, she couldn't recognize her. The Oracle had to convince Niobe how she is really the Oracle. The Merovingian was furious after finding out that the Oracle decided to help Neo, and she had to change her appearance (but in real life, Gloria Foster died from diabetes, so the Wachowskis had to rewrite about changing the appearance). Niobe asks about what happened to Neo. The Oracle tells her that Neo touched the source, but separated his mind from his body (which she's referring to the coma). Niobe asked if she can save him, and the Oracle replies, "Trinity can, but she'll have to fight her way through hell to do it." The Oracle tells her that the path of the One is made by the many, and that they all of their roles to play (which in a way means that Niobe and Ghost will have more important roles in Revolutions)

If it was Ghost talking, the Oracle said that the reason why she's at her new appearance is that two programs she trusted sold her termination for her original shell to the Merovingian. Ghost asks why, and the Oracle replies that the programs were doing it for the love of their child (we don't know who the child is yet, and it hopefully be revealed in Revolutions). In order to prove the Oracle is the Oracle, the Oracle and Ghost talked about the past, when Ghost used to ask her if Trinity ever loves him a certain number of years ago. Ghost remembered that the Oracle told him only as a friend and a brother. Ghost said that he remembered thanking her because he felt relieved from expectation. As soon as Ghost leaves, the Oracle asks him, "You still love her, don't you?" Ghost replied "As much as she loves another." As soon as Niobe or Ghost leave, he/she was chased by dozens of Agent Smiths, and eventually made it to a hardline at a Church in Chinatown.

Things went bad to worse after that, the Sentinels found the Logos and Niobe had to outrun them while Ghost mans the guns to slow them down. The Sentinels eventually fired a bomb. Ghost shoots at it in hope of slowing it down and eventually destroyed it as Niobe hit a dead-end. As soon as 4-5 Sentinels latched onto the Logos after landing, Niobe triggered the EMP, and the people on the Logos are stranded for the time being until Matrix Revolutions.
