That's a special ending. One of four endings in the game.
Ending 1 - Normal Ending: Daniel bids his farewells to his father and leaves with Lisa.
Ending 2 - Special Ending: Lisa's car gets taken for a joy ride by a group of zombies.
Ending 3 - Bad Ending: Daniel morphs into a zombie and attacks Lisa.
Ending 4 - Cliffhanger Ending: A man who looks suspiciously like Goldman finds the vial containing the genes for the animation and creation of the undead. He takes the vial with him and leaves.
It was Goldman if you've played HOTD4 he comes back....

It's not crazy; it's just exceedingly poorly written. Goldman does appear in HotD 4, but only in prerecorded messages. He is quite dead by this point in the chronology. The game is a battle against Goldman's failsafe mechanisms.

How do you get each ending? the only one I haven't gotten is the 'Daniel attacks Lisa' ending, and I would love to see the zombie in the car again
