What is the official reason to ban it in the US?
Is there any?
shareLawsuit by Church of Scientology in 2001-2.
Imagine if Jews tried to ban Passion of the Christ or Christians tried to ban Angels and Demons or Moslems trying to ban, I dunno, The Siege.
And yet Scientologists get away with banning this piece of crap, no questions asked.
Thought-provoking stuff . . .
Indeed. I don't understand how can you ban artistic representation of anything in a deeply democratic country. Thought provoking indeed.

Judge banned film in response to a lawsuit against Scientology surrounding the death of Lisa McPherson who, according to the claim in the suit, was denied medical attention by Scientologists. Judge felt film's depiction of Scientology could be prejudicial to the case. Nothing more or less nefarious than that.
shareSo when the case is over the film can come out, right? Right?
I mean, you Yanks do seem to take that Consti-wotsit pretty seriously, or at least you did before Bush assumed power. (yeah, I know, I'm old)
