Just saw this last week & really enjoyed it (oh, so *that's* who Dragon Eye Morrision was)!
I know Asano's in a band, but can he really play any instruments? 'Cause he just seems to attack the guitar (tho. that cd. be b/c it's his character's method of playing).
Also, do all of Mach 1.67 songs sound similar to this soundtrack?

No idea what the rest of Mach 1.67 songs are like, though if anyone manages to find them - I'd be grateful of a listen.
As a guitarist of many years, I would go out on a limb to say yes - from the look of how he plays, he does have some knowledge at least of how to play guitar. Even if he does thrash and assault the instrument in the film, the way he holds the neck would suggest to me at least that he's used to it...
Coupled with the fact that his band wrote the music, I'd say it was pretty convincing evidence to me that he does.
However, it could just be the fruits of his considerable acting talent that enables him to look so natural whilst holding the guitar. I wouldn't be surprised either way.
