Amazing lighting...

First off... This movie is frankly one of the best films I've ever seen. I was astounded and amazed at how good it was, and especially so as I'd expected so little of it.
My first time watching, I sat slack-jawed for the entirety of it - completely forgetting to even light the smoke I had resting between my fingertips from start to finish; and each subsequent viewing has only revealed more to love about this film.
There are so many things that contribute heavily toward creating the cinematic experience that is Electric Dragon 80,000V - and I could have (and have in the past) discussed individual scenes or shots until the sun falls and rises again - but the one thing that stands out to me in this movie is the use of light.

I doubt highly I'll see a film that exploits shadow and light in a more visually arresting way than this; it would seem (and I would bet) that every shot is meticulously planned and arranged as to be as stunning as possible.
So many times I've turned to folks I'm watching it with and felt cause to exclaim "That's amazing lighting!", that I thought I'd look and see if anyone else feels the same.
The camera-work is stunning also, and more than worthy of merit; but I do feel that without such stark contrast of the black and white and the use of lights and shadows that it would not be nearly as effective or mesmerizing.

I could give examples, but the entire film is littered with them - next time you watch it, spare a thought for the set-up of each shot and you'll see what I mean.

"Not Gods, Englishmen! Which is the next best thing."

I think the city looks beautiful everytime you see it from above... It looks like cardboard or something - I cant describe it but it looks amazing!
