Heavy Metal magazine

Pretty obviously the film is inspired by the comic books by Charlier and Giraud. Jean Giraud uses the pseudonym Moebius for other work. I suggest looking it up in wikipedia. But, there is no credit to the comic book character or the authors as far as I can see so the film is probably not approved by them. The comic books have a very different focus so they might just have refused. I think they should at least have put in 'inspired by Charlier and Giraud's work' or something. Discrepancies: Charlier's Mike comes from Georgia and has a French mother as opposed to Louisiana and Cajun from the film. Anyway, I like the film.
