Shamanism in this film - and others

for all interested in Shamanism who haven't seen this movie -
this should be very interesting to watch.
The Spirit World in this movie is beautifuly shown,
as the use of Power/Guardian Animals,
the use of Sacred Sounds, and further on.

moreso, for those who have seen it and interested in Shamanism,
are there other films concerning or involving Shamanism out there?

I know of the 1997 'photographing fairies',
and The Missing, but haven't seen these 2 yet.
I have seen Thunderheart which is a very good movie,
but nowhere near the visulization and sound effects of Blueberry.

If anyone knows of other cool movies involving Shamanism,
please let us know, I'm sure there are a lot.

Poltergeist 2 has some shamanism in it. The Freelings are aided by a native American throughout the film who calls upon the spirits to help battle the evil ones.

Also, Young Guns also has a scene in it where they eat peyote to enter the spirit world in search for advice.

Natural Born Killers might also qualify.

I agree...

I think this movie is visually incredible, not just
technically, but philosophically.

I've been interested in shamanism and mystical states
since I was young, and it was refreshing to see something so deeply
related with these things in the mainstream.

I just formed a company called Natural Media Research
devoted to synthesizing research dealing with mystical states,
synaesthesia, shamanism, into new forms of media. I thought
you might be interested, www.naturalmediaresearch.com

Currently the videos we have are not really narrative in
nature, except for Din of Celestial Birds (which I made
with Elias Merhige [shadow of the vampire, begotten])
but the rest are more non-linear philosophical experiments.

I am currently working on a narrative feature
dealing with mystical states ... would love to hear
what you think.
