I have just discovered this film on DVD. I like it very much (!!?) but that is not the discussion here. What this film immediately reminded me of was, ALTERED STATES (1980) directed by Ken Russell. The whole hallucinogenics connection basically mixed with the mystical ancients. Anyone else connected with both these films. Two Cult classics most certainly.
shareIndeed!!! When I saw Altered States I instantly thought about Blueberry! Both Blueberry and Altered States have been more like _experiences_ than just movies to me :) Altered States is a cult classic already, and Blueberry is about to become one.
shareYEP! I still love 'Altered States' (like many other of Ken Russell's films) since it was released in 1980. Aged 14 at that time, i still remember how deeply impressed i have been. And i also immediately remembered it when watching 'Blueberry'. But i have to admit that i'm more with the work of Mr.Russell ;)
