Only one question

about the first seven minutes. When Mike Blueberry is delivered to his uncle in Palomito, why are the old man and the courier fighting over a wad of money? It seems to be the uncle's money, for some reason.

All the while young Mike's not paying attention, gazing up and off screen at whores on display with an intense smile.

The uncle starts.

"Give me the money, sir."
"Here's your damn money. He's all yours."
"It's my damn money. It's money blessed by God."
"Go to hell. (courier shoves Mike) You vermin!"

and storms away. The uncle asks Mike if all the money is there, then

"And you? I'll make you pay for that."

So, what the heck?
