'You ruined my song!'

No, honey, you did.

They so very much should have had that song voiced-in by a competent singer. It was challenging getting into this slowly-paced, murkily-told tale, but being asked to believe that ol' Broken Nose would've been enchanted in his tracks by that singing absolutely trashed any sense of suspended-disbelief I'd been able to muster til that point.

Haven't finished watching, but at this point, Juliette Lewis is coming off as one of the worst-cast actors in a role since John Wayne played Ghengis Khan.

So you stopped in the middle of the movie just to go online and rant about Juliette Lewis singing part? ^-^

Well a friends commentary regarding that scene was that it always reminds him of that mentally challenged person she played in 'The other sister'..

Personally it didnt bother me, i thought it was okay for a spontaneous saloon singing. I guess thats personal taste-

No, I had to stop at that point anyway. Try to remember that when you ASSume...

It did sound like actual singing done by a barfly in a saloon, but the problem it that it was supposedly entrancing for all who listened, especially the star.

However, it is a mark of professionalism that the other actors in the scene managed to keep a straight face as she warbled off-key.

I was glad it was interrupted mid - performance, though Maria clearly wasn't.
