Underrated?

I first saw this in 2002 when it came to DVD and I seem to remember enjoying it. Last night it aired on AMC and was surprised at how much I enjoyed seeing the first 20 or so minutes again for the first time. No, I didn't see the entire movie last night, but I really liked what I did see. 6.2 seems rather low....

A filmmaker has almost the same freedom as a novelist has when he buys himself some paper.

Saw it on BBC1 last night expecting nothing but ...it was really rather good !

The lack of star names (except Ms Williams) meant we could guarantee no character necessarily would survive. Nonetheless, the acting was uniformly excellent although Schilling's dodgy German accent and his reaction to the agressive 'Captain' seem a bit odd given his situation.

Moreover, the plot was not Hollywood-obvious as the initial suspicion of enemy sabotage is replaced by a vengeful haunting slowly explained

I have absolutely no recollection of this being in cinemas in 2002/3 - such was the lack of publicity - indeed, I doubt given the dull poster design that I'd have been attracted to it anyway...more's the pity as it is an excellent film, superior to Hollywood horror that gets more noise.

The fate of Jason Flemyng's character reminds me of his role in The Hole.

i think 6.2 is about right, not enough people have seen this though.

in my opinion the most underrated movie in the last 10 years. it's a hidden gem.
