S.P.A.T. meeting

Hi! I'm American and was wondering why the S.P.A.T. meetings would be held on a Friday at 2pm. In America most people are working Monday through Friday from 9am until 5pm so in America the meeting would more than likely be later at night or on a Saturday or Sunday.

Would it make sense to have the meeting on a Friday at 2 in London?

Just curious - Thanks!

What you said about most people working Monday through Friday from 9 am until 5 pm is equally as true in the UK as it is in the US.

I'm going to guess that S.P.A.T. members are among the exception. They don't work and since their kids are at school all day the meetings give them something to do.

Interesting, I never noticed this. Plus we know that Fiona has a job. It actually is pretty commonplace here in America for people to leave work early on Friday so maybe that's true in the UK too. I'm not saying tons of people get off work early on Fridays, but many do. During my commute home Friday Evenings, there is noticeably less traffic due to many people already having left early. Also, when you have a vacation day to use, Friday seems to be the most popular choice. Also of course I'm sure some of the women are unemployed, and others may work earlier hours. I'm assuming there's 24 hour stores and restaurants in the UK as there are here.

Just paused on that part right now and was wondering the same thing LOL surprised the Director or Props department didn't bring that up

It doesn't really make sense to me, truthfully.

However, I just noticed, when Will goes to confront Fiona at the SPAT meeting towards the end of the movie, and they're chatting in the kitchen area, the rest of the SPAT-ers are doing trust-falls in the background!

I imagine so that they didn't need to explain why Marcus wasn't always around or why there weren't lots of kids around.

I guess most of the single mothers work only part time so that they can be at home when the child/ren come/s home from school. So they have their meeting between the end of their work and the end of school.
