Another version of 'Wrong Way'?

I believe to have seen a movie with the same story as in "Wrong Way" at sometime in the Mid-80s. I think it was titeld "The Hitchhiker". Does anybody know what I could have seen?

it looks like it was released on vhs as 'the hitchhiker' at some point, heres the cover
