I must be the intellectual equivalent of saturday morning cartoons, because I just found this incredibly dull, and hard to sit through. It made no sense at all EXCEPT if you choose to look up various meanings of it, but as a story in itself it made no sense.

Making no sense is what this film is about. In absurdist drama, which is what this is, actions are often repetitive and inconsistent with the dialogue. Time is skewed or there is indifference to any sense of time. The attempts of the minimally-drawn characters to communicate are thin, meaningless and superfluous. It's not meant to be a story with complex or deep characters. You're not a "terrible person", but do consider giving this a try again in another ten years or so.
