Question about Cory (Corissa)

I have this documentary on DVD and have watched it a number of times, but I can never figure out what type of work/job that Cory has, if any. I know they mentioned Cas, Maxwell and Lola all worked, but they never said what Cory did. I kept wondering how she was able to afford the hormones she was injecting into herself. Usually hormone shots are quite expensive.

I don't remember it actually being said what Cory did, however I go the impression that she was a stylist or hair dresser. She seemed to know her way around a pair of scissors and a shaver when she was manscaping Max. If she was successful, a hair stylist's income could afford one to pay for hormones.

At first I thought this too - that she was either a barber or cosmetologist - but afterwards Max's shave looked very amateurish and not like something a professional would have done. She still could be a hair-dresser, though.

My personal belief is that she was on some form of public assistance. Mostly due to the way Robert talked about her as if she was a lowlife and Max was too good for her. I'm a m2f transsexual myself, and been living and working as a female for 25 years now, but many of the m2f's I've known over the years were on SSI; claiming this was primarily the only way they could afford their hormones and doctor bills...and they did have some "low skills," if you know what I mean. I'm not saying this is true with Cory, but regardless I would be curious to know if her and Maxwell are still together. I would actually be curious of an update on all of them, actually.

They had split up years ago after she had sex reassignment surgery. It was on his old, now defunct, website.

Corissa also provided IT support for a hotel franchising company. She was my co-worker.

Thank you for that bit of info. I kinda thought she probably worked someplace when the poster below mine said she had the sex- reassignment surgery. I think with SSi they put a cap on how much money you can make or take in. No one I've ever known on SSI was able to afford surgery. I'm not sure about Social Security Disability, though.
