Mr. Bubbles

I just learned that Ving Rhames was the voice of Mr. Bubbles when all that time I thought it was Michael Clark Duncan. Did anyone else or does anyone else think Mr. Bubbles sounds like the actor from Green Mile?

Also, watching it again today, years since first seeing it(2003), I'm noticing a resemblance between the Drill Sgt, Harvey from Vh1's Celebrity Fit Club and Mr. Bubbles. I always thought his image came from Michael Clark Duncan and I just knew that was his voice (now I know I'm wrong), but I see a resemblance between Mr. Bubbles and Harvey. Anyone else see it?

I don't have an answer to your questions, but I did want to comment on the Cobra Bubbles character.

Mr. Bubbles is a good indication of how much better Disney movies usually are than other cartoon features. In someone else's hands, he would almost certainly be a one-dimensional villain, serving only the function of threatening (and trying) to remove Lilo from Nani, even if it got to the point where there wasn't really a good reason for it. Instead, he acts pretty much like a real human with real motivations & feelings. While intimidating to Nani, he ends up showing that he's genuinely concerned for Lilo and, more significantly, not unsympathetic toward Nani and her efforts to do the right thing.

I know this is an old post, but yes I agree Bubbles was nicely written. Usually in stories according to http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DepartmentOfChildDisservices these agents are usually villains or at least incompetent, unemotional bureaucratic obstacles, but Bubbles is well rounded and we know he's looking out for Lilos best interest.

Mr Bubbles sounds like Ving Rhames, with his husky sinister voice. Michael Clark Duncan has a similar voice, and I bet either actor could replace the other in voiceovers without disappointing their respective fans. But MCD's husky voice is a little more gentler and kinder, more suitable for making sammy (sandwich) commercials, IMO.

I thought that Ving Rhames sounded a bit like Michael Clarke Duncan, but apart from that, I didn't see any siilarities.

I thought that Mr. Bubbles bore a strong resemblance to the character Ving Rhames played in Pulp Fiction, Marcellus.

No, I didn't think it was Michael Clark Duncan at all. He had a much deeper voice than Ving Rhames.
