I guess I figured from the really small bed Nani had that she was Lilo's sister. I didn't really give it that much thought. xD

I didn't, I knew they were sisters (and they are talking about the confusion about Nani beeing a mother/sister in the audio commentary in the two disc scandinavian special edition)

When I saw the trailer and you see the part where Lilo goes into Nani´s room, I thought Nani was her mom. But, then, it made complete sense to me once I watched the movie that Nani was her sister. (but it would have been kinda cool if Nani had been her mom instead of sis. Just, maybe with a slightly different personality. Maybe. Don´t quote me on that)
