How the hell is this a 7.0 while Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph are around 7.9? Give me a break. It's at least as good as those two. And The Princess and the Frog has a 7.1?
Sad thing is, I know how crap the IMDB rating system is and it still kind of irritates me. This film is wonderful.

Aliens aside, this movie is very deep. Many people these days live in less than ideal situations, with one parent or other family members raising them. The sense of loss and abandonment felt by Stitch and Lilo, and Nani's sense of inadequacy are very real. This is much more relatable to a lot of viewers than a princess movie.
shareI love this movie but it's hard for me to consider it underrated. I feel that if 10 to 15 minutes were added and some of the sci-fi cheese was cut back, it would be a top 5 Disney film.

I agree, although it is some points higher now. Realistically this should be a 7.7.
But because it's a family film and 2D animation, it doesn't get viewed in the same regard as a live action or modern animated film. But in terms of poignancy, Lilo and Stitch is up there with any of the dramas geared towards adults that I've seen over the years.
It's a beautiful, visual treat with great acting and sends a good message.
I like that boulder. That is a nice boulder.
