Did anyone else like the English dub?

Hey all
This was the first Asian movie I ever watched and I made the terrible mistake of watching it dubbed into English... however I really like it! The horrible American accents make this cheesy action film homage, even more cheesy and funny.

Did anyone else prefer the dub to the subtitles?

I just watched the original Japanese version. I do prefer the English version. For one thing , there seemed to be some scenes edited. And Tak Sakaguchi's (The Prisoner) English-dubbed voice sounded more "macho" than his normal, weaker Japanese voice. He's still a bad-ass though!

I don't think he was meant to sound macho but arrogant.
I'd be interested to see the English dubbed version at least once for a change though. It's hilarious in Japanese but sometimes dubbing can be a source of further unintentional humour.

I happen to be in possession of those documents...

English dubbed anything sucks. Especially Japanese films.

I'm pretty sure the guy who voiced Prisoner KSC2-303 was the same actor who voiced Samonosuke on Ruroni Kenshin's english dub. Whatever the case, he's a good voice actor. Everyone else was terrible though.

I thought that most of the voice actors are good, but some didn't fit right with this movie. Like, I bet they are good in other things. I want to know who they are! But I think it ultimately comes down to personal preference and which sound you like.

Depends if you wanna read the film or watch it unless you've studied Japanese, then watch the original with English subs. Great way to brush up on your Japanese! Hi!
