This would explain that hit seems he did coomit a crime, however she said he lets all her boyfriends do that. I presume John was the first, either she was joking which makes sense although disturbing, or she enjoys it, or having had John do it, was afraid, we are led to believe she abstained from sex for a whil, maybe afterward she asked the guys to put their hand over her mouth, to help stop her from crying or panicking.

Or perhaps she didn't want to scream (with orgasmic joy) whilst with John when they were doing it?

Well, since it's revealed that she (a) didn't have a lot of self-esteem in high school, and (b) said she was in love with him and wanted to be with him, so my take on it is: she didn't enjoy his rough treatment, but was willing to put up with it in order to be with him. Hence why she didn't consider it rape, because she was a willing participant.

I chalk it up to her continuing to make it seem like a not big deal when it actually was. She's testing him to see if he would take the easy way out and go along with the assertion that it wasn't actually rape. He did rape her. He committed to his version and committed to his confession, proving that he was actually sorry and not just bringing it up to make himself feel better or because he got caught up in Vince's game.
