Is this film full of gay sex scenes and nudity?

Are there any sex scenes in it, disturbing ? If so, then I wouldn' watch it...

reply

You don't see any dicks in the film but lots of asses. There are sex scenes, you see faces of people having sex, but not their dicks.

reply

You wouldn't watch it because...?

reply

Don't get me wrong, I don't have any prejudice to gays, but I really can't watch them having sex completely naked in movie, but if a film is really good besides that, than it's ok to watch it...

Sorry for writting mistakes, I'm not American...:)

reply

Can you watch heterosexuals "having sex completely naked" in movies? If so, then you clearly do have some "prejudice to gays." You are uncomfortable with their lifestyle, at the very least.

He's taken off his shoes and one of his socks and... actually, I think he's crying.

reply

No, thats not what he meant. It sonly natural for some heterosexuals to feel uncomfortable in those scenes. The term homophobic is thrown around to loosly, and your only contributing to that

reply

I didn't use the term homophobic in my post. I'm merely saying that if a person can't watch those scenes, they are at the very least uncomfortable with the gay "lifestyle," on some level or another. I'm not saying that they hate homosexuals or anything so extreme, and I'm sorry if I came across that way.

That's me as a vampire? I'm so evil and skanky... and I think I'm kind of gay.

reply

its quite alright. There are just others who are not as civil as you, and shoot off idiotic comments.

agreed and nicely put.

"they should give nicole kidman an oscar for being able to show any emotion after THAT much botox".

reply

That doesn't make you prejudice, clearly you have some prejudice with people who can't watch gay people have sex.

It's going to be gone soon, enjoy it!!!

reply

Don't you just love it when people say, "I am not predujiced, BUT...gay sex is gross" and "I am not racist, BUT...I just don't want to be around black people?"

Guess what? The "BUT" part makes your statement bullsh*t. Why don't they just admit it? My husband had no problem with the gay sex in this film, and he is the sort that watches football and rides motorcycles. So there is really no excuse. Get over it, people!

"I guess I started smoking when I was about...four."

reply

[deleted]

I agree with you, actually, but my problem is really with people who say things like "ew, this film had disgusting gay sex" and other such ignorant comments, like "gay sex is unnatural and wrong." Often these comments are prefaced with, "I'm not prejudiced, BUT...."

It goes for other things too, like race, etc. If someone says, "this just made me uncomfortable," with regard to this or any othe film that features gay sex,I have no problem with it. I actually (wrongly) thought my husband might be uncomfortable, but he got mad at me, saying I thought he was homophobic! But I don't think discomfort with this sort of thing automatically makes you a raging bigot.

Now i've literally just finished watching this on the tell about 5 mins ago. I don't really see what the fuss is about because there is hardly any sex in it at all! As far as i can remember There's only the blowjob scene near the begining which is very funny, the one with the video camera on the sofa, and the one with jean and ignacio. all of them are brief and show nothing. contrary to what a lot of people seem to have been suggesting none of it was graphic or gratuitous. it was all there for a reason and showed no more than it needed to- which was hardly anything. the average 'straight' film with the same certificate would i'm sure show a lot more, and more frequently at that.

reply

Prejudice is being ignorant towards a certain race, sexuality, gender Etc.
We can't help how our mind reacts to something we see.
I bet there's one fetish or sexual activity that makes you uncomfortable like scat porn or simulated rape. There's nothing wrong with that as long as it's consensual but you can't help being grossed out. I'd say some gay people are grossed out by straight sex, but that hardly means they're prejudiced.

reply

"I don't have any prejudice to gays, but I really can't watch them having sex completely naked in movie"

How is that not prejudice toward gays? Are you uncomfortable with all nude sex scenes, or just homosexual ones? What if they were gay women, would that make a difference?

Just wanting you to think about what you said...sometimes we don't recognize our own prejudices because we've convinced ourselves they're not there.

The film is fabulous. Gael is one of the most beautiful men I've ever scene; I'd watch him have sex with any consenting adult, male or female!!

reply

Just for thought:

I happen to be gay, and for me, watching sex scenes with nude women is just as uncomfortable as it must be for many straight people to watch gay men have sex. It's just much harder for me to escape it. I know many other gay men who feel the same way.

I think it's a bit unfair to call somebody who doesn't like to watch gay sex prejudiced against gays in general. There might very well be a biological aspect to physical attraction, and conflating acceptance of gay sex with a broader support for equal rights for gay people only makes it harder to achieve the latter.

reply

You answered much more eloquently and politely than did I.

reply

I am gay as well, but I don't have any problem with watching naked women or a heterosexual couple having sex. It simply doesn't appeal to me, but I don't find it unconfortable to watch.

reply

Well jeez. I guess I'm out of luck here, it doesn't bother me watching any sex scenes at all, excluding rape. But the point is that movies are going to have sex in them. You don't have to watch them if you don't want to, but you shouldn't let the fact that it has "gay sex," or "straight sex," turn you off from it. Sex is a natural. There is no surprise, so why be uncomfortable with something that's so constant? It's just a movie. There doesn't have to be a prejudice surrounding it. If you are uncomfortable don't watch it, i mean jeez the MPAA has rated it NC-17 and it's plot line is gay themed. What other sex would be there? Use your common sense. Am I the only one who reads "other user comments?" Anyway, sex shouldn't bother you. If you are open enough to explore a foreign film that is gay themed, then you shouldn't have a problem with watching a sex scene.

reply

sugrmag66,
about what you posted on Fri Jan 7 2005 15:12:57: i think you're completly right! i watched in a movie and thought it was just so right: prejudice is not only to hate someone without knowing this person...is to thank god, from deep in your heart, that you weren't born like this person! do you agree?

and more: i agree with you about gael! this guy is really something...!
and this is truely a *beep* movie! very, very good! almodovar probably is the most sensible dorector ever!

reply

really now, that aint prejudice, thats preference, and nobody besides gay people wants to watch gay people having sex, gay men, men giving oral sex, sodomy, all that *beep* is not for mainstream audiences.

So *beep* your little 'prejudice' tirade, if someone feels uncomfortable or prefers not to watch two men goin at it, thats his or her call.

reply

Ermincolpa, I know what you mean. I really can't watch heterosexuals having sex completely naked in a movie. It's not normal for me.

reply

Are you Kazakhstani?

reply

It didn't disturb me one bit!

So run to the cinema now!

Smaken är som baken - delad!

reply

are these scenes so bad you cant watch them with a parent? cuz i wanna go, mostly cuz of bernal.

reply

To see Gael have sex on screen with another man is the most amazing thing to ever have happened to the world. Kenneth xxx

Amen to that.

A peanut was walking down the street one day when it got assaulted.

reply

And to top it all, he's the bottom. But that's what being an actor is all about. Being a whore to get the role and then re-creating what you did to be in the film, on film.

reply

I'm a straight woman, but the thought of seeing Gael having sex with another guy has got me very excited about seeing the movie. I can hardly wait for it to be released here. The scene of him kissing his friend in Y tu Mama Tambien was one of the sexiest things I have seen in a movie.

reply

i thought i was the only straight woman to think that way! i just cant get enough of the ass shots :)

reply

my gosh!!!thanks heaven i'm not the only one! i was starting to think i'm a very, very disturbed girl! thank you, girls!for sharing this...

reply

Why would you be "disturbed" for enjoying gay man ass? Plenty of men would enjoy checking out a lesbian one.

Ew, perverts!

reply

It looked rather painful and uncomfortable.

But Gael is incredibly sexy in this movie, and there are some really nice sexy scenes in it.

And, it's a really good movie!

I agree about the kiss in Y Tu Mama Tambien!

Taste is like the behind - divided!

reply

I so agree.

Harry, is that your hand on my ass?

reply

I agree. Seeing Gael have sex, and BEING ON THE BOTTOM is one of the SEXIEST scenes in any movie, hands down.

reply

I have to agree with you--that was hot, more hot than the Zahara sex scene in drag. I'm a straight woman, by the way. It's rather symbolic too, in this film, for Juan to be a bottom.

And the pool scene, which didn't include actual sex, was nontheless very erotic.

"I guess I started smoking when I was about...four."

reply

are these scenes so bad you cant watch them with a parent?

Yes, I watched it with my mom and I felt uncomfortable throughout the entire film.

At the end of hte movie, my mom and I came out of the theater thinking the same thing: it was just TOO MUCH.

It was like Almodovar was living out his gay sexual fantasy, but we - at least I - didnt wanna be part of it.

reply

celinedion,
you clearly didn't get the movie if you have the nervs to say something like that :"It was like Almodovar was living out his gay sexual fantasy"!
do you think it's a porn movie or something?! almodovar is a great director, and if he made that movie he meant something with it!

reply

This movie and actors' performances are so impressive that I really don't remember those trivial things like whose ass or naked part of the body was in it. How can anyone be disturbed with that? Just enjoy it.

reply

honey90019,
well, at least for my parents it would be too much...but that's because i'm not even old enough to watch that movie!
but if you think it would be rather embarassing, go without your folks knowing it, cuz it's really worthy!
and pay attention on the film too...i know gael is beautiful, but don't ever lose a bit of an almodovar movie!
(and i don't even know why am i reaplying it, as you posted it centuries ago!)

reply

Nudity, not so much. You see lots of nice male bottoms! However, you see NO female nudity and no male genatalia (QUITE to my surprise.) The gay sex is abundant, so if this bothers you, see another flick.

reply

"Yes, I watched it with my mom and I felt uncomfortable throughout the entire film.

Be more open-minded. I didnt feel embarassed after watchin it.

reply

yea, lots of hairless bobbing man-asses, to paraphrase the late prophet Bill Hicks.

reply

well, yeah, i just saw it, there is male nudity (no female), but i believe i did see some frontal nudity as well. during his sex scene with the fake-enrique. he was masturbating, and honey, it depends on how your parents are about sexual situations in film. There is a fellatio(blowjob) scene, which no nudity is seen, but sounds are prevalent.

reply

i don't know what softens your noodles but when i think about it, this film depicts NO "straight" sex. none. and just to make things fair, in an almodovarean sense... the sex in this is or should appear no more "disturbing" than those in 'pepi, luci, bom' (1980), "straight" or otherwise.

reply

Wouldn't be wonderful that tomorrow with rise of sun everybody'd became bisexual? LOL.

I usually feel unconfortable in drug films, but gay scenes? No way! I think it's natural and I'm looking forward this film to be broadcast next 28th on Spanish TV. One question... Do you feel unconfortable with two-women sex? I don't think so LOL.

By the way, don't watch Almodovar's "Laberinto de pasiones" then. A man pees on other man (the own Almodovar, I think)

reply

You are missing out on life and understanding your world to block out simple scenes of the world. Such prejudice will prevent you from learning or growing. It's only love and sex. You should not be concerned about love or sex. They will only benefit you, not hurt you. Unless you are a priest.

reply

There are no explicit sex scenes in this movie. At least, we don´t see the genitalia of the actors, we just see faces and hear sounds. You might see some men asses, though. And answering the person who asked if it was so bad that you can´t see it with your parents, that's false. I watched it with my mother and my sister and none of us felt embarrased watching or discussing the movie. If any of you (I mean your parents or you) feel disturbed watching love and sex between homosexuals, then don't see it.

reply

[deleted]

Exactly! Because a loving man and woman can give each other oral and anal sex all day. But if it's two MEN, then yes, you are correct, it's not love. You must be a vrey intellligent pesron to come up with that conlcsion.

reply

briefs18,
kkkkkkkk! very good answer, dude!!!kkkkk!

i supouse, of corse, that you're beeing ironic...

reply

ctovelu,
keep your prejudices to yourself, would you?
that was the most patetic thing i heard in a long time..."A man giving another man head or penetrating his anus can hardly be described as love"...could you tell me why can't it be love? i am truely curious...
just PLEASE save me from the bible answers, would you? i don't bealive in god...

Crimes against nature - hahaha! Oh, that did make me chortle.

reply

Tominrich - the vagina is also an exit as well. Piss comes out of there. The mouth is also an exit because you can vomit out of it. I don't really see how that proves your argument.

reply

Women don't piss from their vaginas. Check your biology please!

Why do you refuse to remember me?

reply

Oh, c´mon, human beings are unnatural by nature. We do so many things that we werent supposed to. Just think of science and arts. Is it natural to operate someones heart? To travel to space? To write stories, like the bible? On the other hand, theres evidence of animal homosexual behavior, and ur not gonna convince me that animals can commit sins.
The thing is, human sexuality cant be considered wrong, except in extreme cases, but, as a judge in the 70s trial against pornography pointed out, the obsesion of some people to mess with another persons lifestyle is wrong.

The sex scene with the two main characters wasnt even about love it was about one of them wanting to get the part in the movie. But I do agree with you that just because 2 men have sex doesnt mean there not in love. What about when a guy goes and has sex with a female prostitute? Just because its a guy and a girl does that mean there in love?

reply

A man giving another man head or penetrating his anus can hardly be described as love

WHY NOT? To me it is the most natural expression of my love for my man, to give him the pleasure that he needs that no woman ever could.

reply

Then you know not love, love is not limited to one's frame of mind but is more about the acceptance of the differences around us and not passing judgment when it is not even our place to judge.

Love thy neighbor as one would have them love you...

Judge not, or ye be judged...

reply

It's just gratutious. I saw this movie and didn't like it not because it was about transsexuals & gays but because fundamentally it just was boring. I have nothing against gay scenes, but in this movie the sex is all over the place and doesn't serve any interesting purpose. Not sure if you consider Boy's Don't Cry a 'gay' movie, but that movie at least was good, and very interesting, this one I couldn't sit through the whole thing, and I like movies!

reply

well, i respect your opinion, but i must desagree...just look at the characters
of this movie! the sex scenes help us understand the envionment of theirs... it just helps to build the hole climate of the movie.
well, that's my opinion...
