What happened to Houseboat guy after Hurricane Katrina?

Does anyone know how Bill Tregle (aka the guy living on the houseboat, with the Alligator farm in Louisiana) was affected by Hurricane Katrina?

I've wondered that too. He was great. Actually they all were.

Funny, I didn't even think about Katrina while watching, but that's a very interesting question. I was mainly thinking about how exactly he has a houseboat in the middle of that lake, and no one has anything to say about it. Imagine if you tried to do that where you live... you'd be berated by every form of government you've never heard of, not to mention the boat patrol every day. And where does he get power? Does he really run everything off of a generator? And his toilet?! I don't even want to know where his toilet leads.

I could've stood it if the filmmaker went into greater detail about pressing questions like those.

The part that always frustrates me with documentaries is that everyone's stories end on the screen, and there's no way possible to find out what happened to them! I wish the director had a blog or something where he would go back to find these people ten years later (well we're almost at ten years since the film release, but I'm sure it was made even earlier than 2001). He could post updates on YouTube.
