Half-Life?
What's the involvment of Half-Life in this game? When I see it in stores it says just "Counter Strike" and nothing about Half-Life.

Counter strike is a modification of half life. It was originally just counter strike until Valve bought the rights to it and it became officially, Half life: Counter strike, jsut like Day of Defeat is Half Life: Day of Defeat. However they are just reffered to as single entities as CS and DoD

gamespy is free, and no one uses it anymore. get steam. Buy the silver edition because you get, the originals (HL1 and CS1.6, which i'm guessing you haven't played and should), HL2 and CS:source.
shareHalf-Life runs on the GoldSource engine, which VALVe just recently named it. Counter-Strike is another mod for the GoldSource engine.
