Well, I believe they DID have SOME currency - in Jupiter Jazz Vicious had that suitcase supposedly filled with money to buy that bloody eye off of Gren.
I think they pretty much always used their cash cards, at least Spike, Jet and Faye did. I thought I remember seeing Faye with cash in hand. I'm not sure and that's not something I look for, to be honest. :D
But yeah, you (almost) never saw actual cash, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist. I guess. :D
Spike! My precious

In "Mushroom Samba", too, wasn't there a suitcase full of cash? And VT carries around the stack of bills from the people who lose the bet to guess her name.
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
One thing that used to confuse me about the money was the bounty would always be in the millions and tat'd be millions as in Yen standard. (1000000 Yen would be like 10000 Euros or dollars I'd guess) So when ever they'd get a bounty I'd always presume they were rich and I'd wonder why they'd complain about being poor

Throughout the entire series, we see them use cash cards, coins, and paper currency. You must've not noticed -that-.
