Why does Superman ? ...

Why did they give Superman to someone with such a pussy voice?

Did you like Tim Daly's voice? I didn't think George Newbern sounded…I'll say "wimpy" in place of your adverb…but I don't think he sounded as cool as Daly did.

I like his voice. He truly sounds like a Boy Scout or something. Like whenever he tries to talk a bad guy out of something it sounds so sincere...like when he was trying to rationalize with a fresh-out-of-the-grave totally out of control Solomon Grundy: "C'mon, Grundy. We've been through this before. Tell me what's bugging you and maybe I can help. " <--I am paraphrasing here a bit.

I thought Newbern's voice sounded a awful lot like Daly's. Maybe Daly's was a little deeper, but not that much. not everybody is like Conroy's Batman and born to be that voice.

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.

I agree. I thought Newbern was always good, but improved over time. I thought he really came into his own with his performance in the second season premiere "Twilight".

Superman: Any minute now, Brainiac will explode. And guess what? You're going with him.
(Darkseid reaches for Orion's Mother Box, but Superman destroys it with his heat vision)
Superman: No, Darkseid. To get off this rock, you'll have to go through me.
Darkseid: You really are a glutton for punishment. Time and again, I've beaten you, humbled you. What makes you think today's outcome will be any different?
Superman: Because this time, I won't stop until you're just a greasy smear on my fist. Let's go.

Uhhh...Conroy's voice does not "naturally" sound like that...without deliberate inflection by him and probably a little help from Andrea Romano.

That said...that is another reason why I like Superman's voice in the show. It keeps them from having to go even lower/gravelier with Batman's voice (and maybe Green Lantern's too) in order for them all to be distinctly different enough.
