What if Wonder Woman got the Black Mercy latched on to her?

In the episode "For the Man who has Everything", what do you think Wonder Woman's greatest desire would have been if she became a victim of the Black Mercy? That would have been interesting to see.

The series was always dropping hints about Wonder Woman being romantically interested in Batman. Maybe her greatest desire would have been to be Batman's wife/girlfriend?

I seriously doubt a warrior princess's greatest desire is to be a wife.

I didn't write that Wonder Woman's greatest desire was to put on an apron and iron Batman's tights. What I was trying to say is Wonder Woman wanted Batman to be her lover. Now there's a whole continuum that goes from "friends with benefits" to "matrimony", and we can only speculate where on that continuum Wonder Woman wanted her relationship with Batman to fall. It did seem to me that she had genuine feelings for him and wanted something more than a fling.

That is not what you said at all. You specifically said girlfriend/wife.

And you're right. Wonder Woman did have genuine feelings for him, and we can only wonder what she wanted. But it's doubtful her greatest desire would be to have a man. How about being able to return to her homeland as a hero after being banished? Having her mother welcome her back. That would probably be a bigger desire for her than a boyfriend.

That's a valid possibility as well.

Diana is invulnerable to the Black Mercy because of the distance barrier to her heart posed by her protuberant bosoms.

Heh! However, the Mercy was able to penetrate Superman's invulnerable skin. I think it's long enough and strong enough to get to WW's heart.

This is probably the closest, along with succeeding in her mission to bring lasting peace between her homeland and Man's World.

"Iron Batman's tights". Isn't that Alfred's job? Unless Robin had some kind of weird fetish. When I read that line, I busted out laughing. That was one of the best comebacks. Well done Alpha.

And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

In fairness to PreachCaleb, I could have been clearer in my original statement. However, I'm glad you enjoyed my comeback.

And, you're right - ironing Batman's tights is Alfred's job.

thank you! it made sense that clark's greatest desire was to have an extended biological family, because he is an orphan from a dead planet. but anyone who thinks wonder woman's greatest desire would be the role of girlfriend or wife does not get her character.

before we get started, does anyone want to get out?

There was a Wonder Woman story a few years back where she is tempted by a Demon, in her dream she has conquered the world, has Batman and Superman as her concubines and has brought her religion to man's world. I assume it would be something like that.

This episode is actually based off of an Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons story that appeared near the end of the pre-Crisis DC Universe. The original Jason Todd Robin was in the story and it was he who nailed Mongul with the Black Mercy after Mongul had beaten WW down. Also in the story, they showed Mongul's fantasy: he blocks the Mercy, vaporizes Robin, rips off Superman's head to display throughout the universe. Then every dictator from outer space comes and kneels before Mongul.
