Clancy Brown's Lex Luthor was arguably the main antagonist of the entire show and Brown performed him well. Even though I think Eisenberg will be great as Luthor, I was really hoping the character could be portrayed by someone who could bring the compelling voice and physical yet refined presence of Brown's portrayal. The only two actors (besides Brown himself) who I think could pull that off are James Spader (working for Marvel) or Phillip Seymour Hoffman (recently passed, may he rest in peace). Does anyone know of any other actors who would fit the bill?

I still think if Kevin Spacey had been given better material to work with, he'd've been a great Lex Luthor.

Definitely, and I'm not being sarcastic. Frankly, I would watch Spader and Spacey just having a conversation for two hours.

I concur. Like Frost/Nixon. I watched Sheen and Langella have a conversation for two hours.
